Who I am

Spit 'n' Polish Cleaning Services, a sole trader business owned and run by Jo-Ann Hargreaves. You can contact me by phone on 07861 592695 or by email at jo.spitnpolish@gmail.com. I am the data controller for any personal information you provide.

What information I collect

When you submit an enquiry through this website, or contact me by phone, email or WhatsApp, I may collect:

• Your name
• Your phone number
• Your email address (if you provide it)
• Your address or the area you live in
• Details about the cleaning you need (services, frequency, and anything you tell me in the message box — for example number of bedrooms, pets or parking)

I do not collect payment details through this website. I do not use cookies for tracking or advertising. (If analytics or cookies are added later, this section will be updated and a cookie notice added.)

Why I collect it and my lawful basis

I use your information only to:

• Reply to your enquiry and provide a quote
• Arrange and carry out cleaning work you’ve asked for
• Keep basic records of the work I do for you

My lawful basis for processing your information is legitimate interest (responding to an enquiry you have made) and, where you go on to book, performance of a contract.

Who I share it with

I do not sell your information, and I do not share it for marketing. Your details may be handled by the service that runs my enquiry form and my email provider, purely so that your message reaches me. I will only share your information with anyone else if I am legally required to.

How long I keep it

If you enquire but don’t go ahead, I’ll delete your details within 12 months. If you become a client, I keep basic records for as long as you’re a customer and for a reasonable period afterwards, as required for my business records.

How I protect it

I take reasonable steps to keep your information secure, and only I have access to enquiries sent through this website.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

• Ask for a copy of the information I hold about you
• Ask me to correct anything that’s wrong
• Ask me to delete your information
• Object to how I’m using it
• Withdraw consent, where you’ve given it
